CONSTITUTION OF THE USHERS CLUB OF
OUR LADY OF
THE MOST BLESSED
Preamble
For the Honor and
Glory of Almighty God, and the love of our fellowmen; to assist at the Holy
Sacrifice of the Mass and other Spiritual devotions, to safeguard and uphold
the principals of justice and religious freedom; to promote peace and goodwill
on earth; to show that a true Catholic is the highest type of citizen; to pray
that God will give us the grace to live a better life and in the end receive
his eternal Blessing.
Article I
Name
This society shall be
known as the Usher's Club of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church.
Article II
Object
To render usher
service at the Masses and other devotions in Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament
Church.
Article III
Membership
Section
1. Membership
shall be limited to 10 working ushers per

2. Any
young person 17 years or over whom is a member of Our Lady of the Most Blessed
Sacrament Parish is eligible for membership.
Section
3. A
proposed member's name shall be submitted to the Pastor for approval.
Section
4. Honorary
membership is extended to any member physically incapacitated or because of
age.
Section
5. The
Treasurer will collect annual Dues
Section
6. Annual
dues are not to exceed five (5) dollars for each usher.
Section
7. The
President may suspend annual dues or limit dues collected to new members only.
Article IV
Duties
Section
1. All
members must conform to the Constitution of the organization.
Section
2. All
members shall attempt to be available 15 minutes before their assigned Mass.
Article V
Meetings &
Attendance
Section
1. Meetings to be called by the president whenever he or she deems it
necessary.
Section
2. All
members should sign the attendance sheet.
Article VI
Officers
The officers of the club shall consist of a Spiritual Director,
President, Treasurer, Mass Captains and Co-Captains.
Article VII
Nomination and
Election of Officers
Section
1. Nomination
and election of officers will be at the December meeting, every two years. Each
term will be two years in duration

2. Any
member shall be eligible for any office.
Section
3. Mass
captains and co‑captains will be appointed and dismissed by the
president.
Article VIII
Duties of Officers
Section
1. The
Spiritual Director shall open and close all meetings with prayer, and be a
member of all committees.
Section
2. The
president shall preside at all meetings and be a member of all committees, and in the absence of the Spiritual Director,
open and close all meetings with a prayer. He shall enforce a rigid observance
of all the Rules and Regulations embodied in the Constitution and Ushers Guide
of this club, appoint all committees, inspect and announce results of all the
balloting and all other votes. He shall not vote other than to cast the
deciding vote in case of a tie. He shall neither make nor second any motions,
or debate on any subject while he is in the chair.
Section
3. The
treasurer shall take charge of all money and make a written report at each
regular meeting of all money received and spent.
Section
4. The
Mass captains shall be in charge of the ushers at the various Masses and shall
place his ushers and see that they discharge their respective duties.
Section
5. Each
member is expected to assist in any extra curriculum in the parish.
Article IX
Vacancy in Office
When a vacancy occurs in the office of President, the Mass captains
will choose a replacement.
Article X
Amendments
Any additions, alterations or amendments to this constitution must be
presented to the pastor in writing. A copy of the revised constitution will be
distributed to all ushers.
Article XI
In Memoriam
The organization will offer one Mass for the recently deceased member
and one Mass for all the deceased members of the club annually during the month
of November. No Mass collections are to be made for this purpose.
